Fleur Jones is an artist whose work observes the edgelands of human interactions and histories. By observing architecture and people’s relationships with the objects and structures that guide, contain, and control us, she gains a deeper understanding of how we can create a more open and social future for both people and the land we live on. Her material persuasion depends on the nature of the topic she is working on at one time, though she often chooses materials and processes that favour a sustainable practice.
In addition to creating work individually, she shares a practice with artist Scarlett McNally, forming the dual identity Odds and Ends. The pair formed out of an interest in working collaboratively, maximising their skills, time, and creative reach. Their work is driven by their local environment, often broaching serious topics by creating in a fun, playful manner, employing humour where possible.
